MedPro Healthcare is proud to be partnering with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support New Zealanders to take control of their health. Starting October 2022, eligible adult policyholders will be able to receive a free annual health check with MedPro.

Why should you get an annual health check?

The Southern Cross Healthy Futures Report (2022) found that cost was once again the most common contributing factor in delaying seeking medical care. Even more so when we are not acutely unwell, with many New Zealanders also admitting that they don’t see regular check-ups as necessary.

Prevention is the best medicine and putting off going to the doctor increases the likelihood of poor health outcomes, high blood pressure, depression, and the development of chronic conditions. The 20-minute health and well-being check will include risk factor screening for two of the biggest causes of ill health in New Zealand; Diabetes and heart disease. Identifying risk factors of these conditions can help prevent them, and reduce the chance of serious consequences.

What is included in the Southern Cross member Health Check?

Your 20-minute health check will look at your personal health, family history, lifestyle, and biological risk factors for chronic conditions, namely diabetes and heart disease.

You will also get the opportunity to ask our registered nurses for advice about health concerns and what steps you can take to address these.

Where can I get a health check?

MedPro has 15 main locations nationwide, however, we will be holding appointments at satellite clinics to increase availability in more remote locations.

If there are currently no appointments available at your desired location be sure to check the booking link regularly as new dates are added monthly. The Expression of Interest form includes an option to opt-in to receive email updates when new appointment dates are added.

What are the Terms and Conditions of the offer?

Terms and conditions apply to all member benefits. You can see the conditions laid out by Southern Cross Health Insurance here.

MedPro Healthcare also applies the following terms and conditions:

• Failure to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least two business days before your booking will result in the benefit being claimed against your policy.
• Only members aged 16 years and older who have an active Southern Cross policy can access these benefits.
• Bookings are subject to pre-approval by Southern Cross Health Insurance. Please ensure you provide the correct policy number at the time of booking.
• All policyholders require a separate 20-minute appointment booking.
• Clinic locations are subject to change depending on interest in the area.
